Bre Lavender Bre has always been an animal lover and rescuer, and has made her way to finding her passion for dog training! her goal is to help build dogs confidence and teach them how to be as well behaved as possible while enjoying themselves in the process. Certified Trainer Nancy became a certified trainer in 2004 and started PPDD in 2006. After transferring ownership of the daycare in 2019, she continues to offer private lessons and teach training courses (see below). Her passion for training started with her family dog. She loves helping people build relationships with their dogs and seeing them improve through positive training. |
Beginning Manners

Class information:
This Beginning Manners class will teach general obedience cues, address leadership skills and behavior issues, and learn to communicate with your dog. Positive reinforcement methods will be used to help your dog learn and gain confidence.
Please note: There will be an optional 6th week of class (February 18) for anyone registered who would like clarification on what was covered during the 5 week class or other specific issues.
Instructors are certified trainers Nancy Welker and Mary Chapa.

Requirements:
-Please bring plenty of soft treats.
-Leather or nylon leash is acceptable.
-Required vaccinations: Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella (kennel cough).
-Bordetella vaccine must be given at least 10 days prior to first class
-Please bring your dog the first night along with plenty of soft treats and a pouch or large pocket to put the treats in.
-No retractable or chain-type leash; a leather or nylon leash is acceptable.
-No shock, prong, or chain collars

Canine Good Citizen/Therapy Dog Introduction
January 13-February 17, 2025

Class information:
This class prepares both you and your dog for Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification and introduce you to therapy dog work. The class emphasizes the 10 steps necessary to have your dog CGC certified, which is required for most therapy dog work. Training and exercises will simulate real-life therapy visits during this class. The CGC certification test will be given on the last night of class.

AKC Tricks

This class will help you teach your dog a variety of tricks based on the list from the American Kennel Club (AKC). This is a great opportunity to connect with your dog and have fun doing it. There are different levels and the class will concentrate on the beginning level and move to more challenging levels depending on individual skills and pace of learning. There will be a 6th week of class (November 11) which will be optional for anyone registered who would like an extra testing day or to work on additional tricks.
Instructors: Nancy Welker (certified AKC evaluator and certified trainer) and Mary Chapa (certified trainer)
